Become a Famous Musician: The Justin Bieber Guide

Is it easier to become a musician now?

In this modern age there are many ways to be discovered. The opportunities are endless.

Many teenagers want to dip their toes into the pool of music, become a famous musician and start creating ripples of their own.  The young Justin Bieber found his fame and fortune by being discovered when he placed his music video onto YouTube.  Doing this has made him a household name, and the envy of many.

How YouTube Can Help You Become a Famous Musician

Justin Bieber was discovered on YouTube by Scooter Braun, the US talent manager who co-owned the record label Raymond Braun Media Group with RNB singer and Hip-hop entertainer Usher.  Bieber met with Usher and under Braun’s management was signed to Island Records by executive L A Reid.

The music industry has changed so much since the birth of the World Wide Web.  There are so many people, from all walks of life and coming from all ages who are trying to get some of this good luck powder and sprinkle it on their doorstep hoping some of that magic will open up avenues for them.  But what are the chances of anyone else having this same amount of good luck?

Become a Famous Musician – a Lottery?

There are thousands, if not more, of unsigned artists and solo singers who are uploading their videos onto YouTube, and elsewhere, every second.  That’s more people than are doing the lottery and hoping to win it.  It is said that in England the chances of winning the lottery is something like one in sixty million!  In the language of the mathematician you might as well not do it. But still we all do as someone always wins it so why can’t it be you!

It is this ‘good luck’ vibe or adrenalin rush which entices us to come back to buy more tickets and just as long as someone in this sixty million wins it then it justify our desires the stronger.

Uploading videos onto video sharing sites has the same craving, singers and musician want recognition. You could almost feel the frustration of the number of people who don’t attract good hits or get positive ratings but still these videos are left there.  How did the young Justin Bieber got so lucky?

He built a following.

Braun recognised that Justin already had a large following on YouTube, so moving to the next step was much less of a risk.  He didn’t need to build his fans from scratch, there were already fans waiting for more.
